PUBG Mobile was banned in India in September, and despite several attempts to make a comeback, the firm was unable to do so until recently. Krafton has released Battlegrounds Mobile India, which has new privacy regulations, gameplay adjustments, and limits, among other things. However, it appears that PUBG Mobile India user data is still available, according to reports.

This follows rumours that the PUBG Mobile user account and inventory will be moved to Battlegrounds Mobile India, and Indian Express independently confirmed if PUBG Mobile user data for an Indian account is currently available.

“Krafton’s PUBG Mobile does retain your data from Tencent’s PUBG Mobile. A quick look at my personal account in Krafton’s PUBG Mobile (which is still somewhat playable in India via unofficial means), revealed that all my account data accumulated over the years in Tencent’s PUBG Mobile is intact. This included rewards, statistics, and other unlockables, which I had acquired since PUBG Mobile had launched in India. Everything was intact despite the switch in publishers,” According to the Indian Express report.

The use of the phrase “unofficial means” implies that PUBG Mobile was perhaps accessed using VPN. Immediately following the PUBG ban in India, there were reports of the game being playable via a VPN. However, the gameplay would not be as seamless as it would be if you did not use a VPN, since there would be slowdown in shooting and movement.

Tencent has previously blocked Indian server access to PUBG Mobile in October 2020, and it appears that Krafton has gotten access to the Indian user data. According to the newest Indian Express report, Krafton might transfer customer data to Battlegrounds Mobile India if it so chooses.

According to rumours, Krafton may not transfer PUBG Mobile user data to Battlegrounds Mobile India. Only time will tell if the game will face any repercussions from regulatory organisations due to any exploitation of user data or non-compliance with norms.

The Battlegrounds Mobile India release date is set for June 18th, and the game is already available for pre-registration on the Google Play Store. Krafton also intends to make the game available to iOS users. Users who pre-register for Battlegrounds Mobile India will also receive unique bonuses.
